Siri changes everything

The future is here… Tomorrow… And by tomorrow I mean next summer.

Siri represents the first step in the interconection of devices and the internet and data. You have all these apps on your iPhone; finance apps, personal health apps even next gen health apps like Jawbone Up, your calendar, your friends on Facebook, your life is scattered among apps on your iPhone. Unfortunately until now apps haven’t been allowed access to Spotlight on your iPhone.

Siri, without a doubt will allow 3rd party access and with it the ability to quickly interact with all your data through one interface based on human language. So when you ask what’s on my schedule for next Monday maybe it’ll show you Facebook friends birthdays and maybe it will include bills due from Bofa or one day BankSimple (maybe if they ever launch).

But let’s take that one step further. With Bluetooth 4.0 on board the iPhone now can communicate with low power consuming devices like a 2nd generation Jawbone Up, your fridge, your TV? Your car and with one interface through natural language you can query data on potentially the entire world around you wirelessly.

Siri is a tidal wave and I can’t wait for iOS 6 for that wave to really crest.
